Home Birth Costs

At American River Midwifery your prenatal care, labor, birth, newborn exams and postpartum visits are all included in your package fee of $7900. This includes a second skilled midwife assistant for your labor & birth. There may be a couple of small optional costs which vary from family to family depending on their preferences. The details including insurance billing information are outlined in the Financial Agreement which we’ll review together at our consultation. To get started there is a consultation fee of $100. When we’ve committed to teaming up there is a $500 non-refundable retainer due (which is applied to your balance) when we schedule your first prenatal visit, and reserve your due date. At each prenatal visit $400 is due, until paid in full (also applied to your balance). The full fee is due by 34 weeks of pregnancy. Then we’ll schedule your 36 week home visit and we’ll be on-call for you. Additionally, a ‘birthing kit’ of supplies is required to be ordered before 36 weeks at a cost of less than $75. Also available to reserve is our Aquadoula labor pool kit $400 delivered to you and removed immediately following your birth or ASAP.
